It's the day after Merthyr Rising 2020, and this year was supposed to be a year off. Unlike other year's we're feeling fresh and excited for the next 11-12 months of planning next years festival.
It's thanks to the local production company, Ratio Studio's who along with the incredible talent in the area, that have made our first online festival a massive success. Ratio studios is a group of skilled lighting, sound and visual professionals that delivered a fantastic experience for all our performers and the audience watching at home.
We want to thank the those at Ratio for their remarkable work and dedication. They offer a high-quality product with consideration for social distancing and COVID-19 protection. If there is anyone out there looking to record or stream artist performances, I'd highly recommend getting in touch with to see how they can offer their services.
We can't forget the performers at Merthyr Rising this year. Due to the lockdown measures, we blended a mixture of socially distant live performances with recordings sent from those further afield or who couldn't make it to the studio.
Within a 10 mile radius of Merthyr Tydfil, we witnessed some of Wales' best and emerging talent. I know I'm biased, but I genuinely think the valleys is one of the UK hotbeds for music at the moment. We see the audience was never disappointed, and even though they couldn't be there in person, they were able to get into the spirit and vibe of the festival.
Last but not least, we want to thank all those at home tuning in and supporting us. The messages and comments from all around the globe have made it all worthwhile. Those who missed the festival can catch up and enjoy it from our YouTube Channel.
We're so proud to know so many enjoyed it, and we can't wait to bring you more in 2021. We will be back at Penderyn Square better than ever.
Thank you all so much.
