When the festival organisers reached out to Tiny Rebel to join Merthyr Rising as one of their new drinks partners they knew it would be a brand that would tie in perfectly with their festival’s ethos.
The brand name itself, Tiny Rebel, sits perfectly with everything the festival is about and the history it’s based on plus their craft beers are pretty special too. When you combine everything together, it really is a match made in heaven.
For those not too familiar with the Tiny Rebel brand, here's a little info to whet your appetite.
Tiny Rebel is an award-winning brewery from Newport, South Wales. They are the youngest and only Welsh brewery to win Champion beer of Britain. Not only do they lay claim to this prestigious title but they are the only brewery to have won gold, silver and bronze in the Champion Beer of Wales competition (in their first year) and the only brewery to defend a gold the following year. Tiny Rebel also won the SIBA Brewery Business of the Year and International Beer Challenge UK Brewer of the Year in 2016. More importantly and just like almost everyone who attends the Merthyr Rising Festival they are also just fans of super tasty beer which reflects on the love and care dedicated to their ales by all involved.
A spokesperson for Merthyr Rising told us, ‘’We are delighted to announce this brand new partnership between our festival and Tiny Rebel. We are excited to be introducing their unique and very tasty craft beers at our 2018 event and we feel our customers will not only love the beers on offer but also love the brand association. The festival was built on rebellion and Tiny Rebel as a brand will fit in perfectly. It may be tiny in name but the product is certainly not tiny when it comes to taste and stature and will certainly appeal to the rebel in all of us. It’s great to be working with such a cool, forward-thinking, modern Welsh brand who not only creates great beers but also supports the local live music scene’’
The 2018 Merthyr Rising Festival will be the biggest yet. From the lineup, which will be announced soon, to its new drinks partners like Tiny Rebel and overall festival scope, everything has been tweaked, polished and re-jigged from previous years to create a ‘new look’ festival for 2018 to be truly proud of.
If you fancy trying out some of Tiny Rebel’s great tasting beers prior to the festival you can visit them at the brewery or one of their Cardiff and Newport bars. Full details can be found here www.tinyrebel.co.uk
